Honey Facts A full load of nectar is about half the weight of a bee. The average worker bee lives for just 6 weeks during the summer. Bees will visit 2,000,000 flowers to collect enough honey to make 454g (1lb) honey. A bee beats its wings 200 times a SECOND when flying. Honey bees can fly at 25kms per hour. The queen can lay up to 2000 eggs a day.
