Membership runs from 1st October to 30th September yearly








MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES & COSTS (updated for 2023-2024)


Registered Member £57.50 (for practising beekeepers):

  • Membership of: WBKA, SBKA & BBKA 

  • Cover of BBKA 3rd Party Public Liability Insurance & Products Insurance 

  • Cover of Bee Diseases Insurance for up to 3 colonies – (additional cost for 4+ colonies * Additional Bee Insurance below) 

  • Newsletters: WBKA, BBKA News, and BeeCraft magazine (paper or digital option)

Partner Member £19.00: 

For partners who are practising beekeepers at same address as full Registered Member. Only one Partner Member is permitted per Registered Member

  • Membership of: WBKA, SBKA & BBKA 

  • Cover of BBKA 3rd Party Public Liability Insurance & Products Insurance


Associate Member £15.50: 

For local non-beekeepers, other family members/partner & members of other Divisions

  • Membership of: WBKA 

  • Newsletters: WBKA 


Junior Member £10.00: 

For children of Registered Members who are under 18 on 1st October of the membership year and who are practising beekeepers. Dependents over the age of 18 can join as Partner Members but only one Partner Member per Registered Member is permitted.

  • Membership of: WBKA

  • Newsletters: WBKA

  • Does not include: BBKA Insurance, BBKA News or BeeCraft.  Junior members can take out a subscription to BeeCraft if their parent/ guardian is not a member and does not receive a copy already.

Members of SBKA's Wimbledon Division through the payment of their subscriptions, can enjoy a range of benefits depending on the class of membership taken (see membership classes) including:


  • Public Liability Insurance through BBKA

  • BBKA News

  • Bee Disease Insurance

  • Membership of the Wimbledon division with full participation in all its activities including, monthly meetings, lectures, diagnostic bee health days, our own newsletter, national representation by the BBKA, lots of training, advice and support.


In addition, registered members also benefit from a subscription to BeeCraft at a significant reduction.


Members are encouraged to Gift Aid their membership subscriptions as SBKA is able to claim 25% from HMRC on these subscriptions with the exception of the BeeCraft element.
